Heide Müller is one of the most promising young conductors in Germany and is increasingly in demand as a guest conductor in Europe.
In 2023, she worked as chorus master for Cappella Amsterdam and made her debut with them at the Dutch festival Wonderfeel. In September 2024, she was invited back to conduct the concerts La femme lumineuse, featuring an exclusively contemporary a cappella program.
For the final concert of her master’s degree at the Norwegian Academy of Music, she made her debut in May 2024 with one of Europe’s leading ensembles, The Norwegian Soloists' Choir, focusing primarily on a cappella music from the 20th and 21st centuries. She worked closely with the ensemble as an assistant from 2022 to 2024 and was decisively influenced by its chief conductor, Grete Pedersen.
As chorus master for Mozart's Requiem, Haydn's Creation, and Gluck's opera Iphigénie en Tauride, Heide Müller will lead the Balthasar Neumann Choir at the Herbstfestspiele Baden-Baden, Germany, in November 2024.
She has been selected as a semi-finalist for the Eric Ericson Award 2024 in Stockholm this coming October. The young conductor received the Young Artists Award in the music category from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, in 2022 and was admitted to the Conducting Forum by the German Music Council that same year. As part of the Norwegian Conductors Forum by Talent Norge, she has the opportunity to collaborate with internationally renowned mentors and ensembles. She has participated in masterclasses with Martina Batič, Kaspars Putniņš, Nigel Short, Yuval Weinberg, and Florian Helgath, among others, and has conducted ensembles such as the Swedish Radio Choir, SWR Vokalensemble Stuttgart, NDR Vokalensemble, Berlin Radio Choir, Chorwerk Ruhr, Slovenian Philharmonic Choir, and the Oslo Opera Choir.
Heide Müller is the conductor of the cara tonale vokalensemble, which she founded in 2019, assistant conductor of the Oslo Cathedral Choir, and conductor of Ensemble DALÍ in Kristiansund for the year 2025. In 2025, she will also serve as the Artistic Leader of the Landesjugendchor Schleswig-Holstein.
